24 Mar Jesus Heals Many

Thought for the Day: Jesus offers healing!
Last night (March 23rd) Rev. Brian Wood led our second Faith Community Healing Service. As we were getting ready for the service, we heard from a number of people who couldn’t physically be there but requested we have prayer for them. Then, during the service, we had a number of pastors present to pray for and anoint with oil, everyone who came forward. The Holy Spirit was clearly present, and I realized that today we have the same experience that Matthew’s Gospel describes from the ministry of Jesus.
Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law, the Roman servant, and a man with leprosy. Then, in the evening, Jesus had many brought to him for healing. In Matthew’s Gospel, it is clear that Jesus was present for everyone who needed healing. Tonight, it was evident that Jesus was present for everyone who needed healing. Just like the Roman soldier stood in for his servant who couldn’t physically be there, tonight we had people stand-in for those who couldn’t physically be at our church.
This week our theme is, “We Need Jesus”. Today, there are many things that we need healing for. Just as Jesus healed two thousand years ago, He continues to heal today. If you feel like you would like a pastor to meet with you, anoint you with oil, and pray for you or someone you love please reach out to me by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) and one of the pastors at Faith Community Church will set up a time to meet and pray with you.
