Strong in Jesus

Strong in Jesus

Read 2 Timothy 2:1-4

Thought for the Day: Our strength is in Jesus (not anything or anyone else)!

While the situations and circumstances we go through can seem “unprecedented”, they aren’t. Christians have faced difficulties ever since a group of people decided to wrongly arrest and execute Jesus. But. we should always remember something amazing: the same Jesus who was wrongly put to death rose from the dead! Evil never wins!

Writing to young Timothy, the Apostle Paul gave timeless advice: Christians will face difficult times. However, we should never lower ourselves to “woe is me” attitudes. Instead of going through struggles and blaming those around us, we are to “Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.”

Did you hear the good news in Paul’s words? At those times when we feel frustrated, we are not alone! We will never face anything that Christians have not already faced over the last 2000 years. In fact, any difficulty we face today is nothing compared to the persecution of the Early Church. This is why it is important to learn the same lesson those early Christians learned. We must not get caught up in the things of today that will be gone tomorrow. Instead, we can always find our strength in Christ. He is eternal!

Let’s never forget that we don’t have to feel strong. Instead, our strength comes from Jesus, and He has promised to never leave nor forsake us!

In Christ,

Pastors Stan and David
