Faith Community Church donates $11,000 to Plymouth Public Schools

NEWS August 11, 2020

Faith Community Church of Plymouth MA has raised $11,000 for the purchase of Chromebooks for students who need them for remote learning this fall.  Lack of Chromebooks has been a big challenge in the execution of remote learning in Plymouth, which has been a huge frustration for Plymouth parents.  Plymouth announced last week that they would have a hybrid learning model, but the need for Chromebooks is still great.

Dr. Gary Maestas, Superintendent of Plymouth Public Schools,  received a check from Faith Community Church at a presentation yesterday, August 11 at the Plymouth Public Schools Central office, 11 Lincoln St Plymouth MA.  This donation will allow the purchase of over 50 Chromebooks to be distributed to Plymouth students in need.  Special thanks to Powder Horn Press for donating the GIANT check!

WCVB came out to cover the event and ran this story on the 6pm news.  Thank you to all who donated!  We hope this motivates other organizations to raise funds for this purpose in support of students in their communities.
