17 Mar Worship Service and “Encouraging Words” UPDATE
Dear Faith Community Family,
During these anxious times, I am holding you and your family in prayer. I am thankful our governor continues to give clear guidelines on what is asked of us as individuals and also what we need to do with our public facility. We will continue to carefully follow all guidelines as they are issued. I watched Sunday night as Governor Baker laid out a number of things that important for us.
Most importantly, it is clear that gatherings will be less than 25 people. All gatherings are also told to keep people at a distance of 6 ft. apart. This means that our worship services will now be only a live-streamed service every Sunday at 10:30 am. These services will continue to be streamed on Facebook Live. We are hoping to have additional ways to present on-line service for those who don’t have Facebook. We will be announcing any additions later in the week.
During this time, we will continue to provide for your spiritual needs in addition to Sunday Worship. We will be setting up “Zoom Small Groups” as soon as we can. Beginning today, we will be adding a daily “Encouraging Words” from your pastors. Pastors David, Josee, and I will be sending these out by e-mail and Facebook each day around 1 pm.
It is very important that we love, accept, and support one another during this time. As your pastor, I want to give a personal perspective. I believe the Bible teaches us to thoroughly follow rules and guidelines as they are set up knowing that then we can comfortably live by faith knowing God will take care of the rest. This is what I call “Courageous Faith”. Regina and I have had to practice this during our most troubling times. As I shared in yesterday’s sermon, this was especially true when we almost lost a child. We did everything the doctors asked of us and we also prayed and trusted God. I invite our congregation to do the same during this troubling time.
I deeply care about each of you and will be praying for each of you by name. I am also eager to receive your prayer requests. I am including the link for the Faith Community Prayer Requests that was put together by Pastors Josee and David (http://tinyurl.com/vlb2wk9). You can use this link or reach out to me through text (774-404-4314) or email (pastor@faithcommunityma.com).
These are trying times and God will get us through!
In Christ
Pastor Stan
