Coronavirus Update

“Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the Lord on high is mighty.” Psalm 93:4

Dear Faith Community Church Family,

Fear is not from God, but Faith is! It is important to be wise in the decisions we make and do everything we can as individuals, families, churches, communities, and a nation to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. At the same time let’s trust in God who is mightier than anything that causes us to be afraid.

I want to update you with what we are doing as your servant/leaders of Faith Community Church.  First, we want to encourage everyone who attends events at our buildings to refrain from any physical touching. Although there are many ways in which we have learned to express our public care for one another, during this time we ask that our first priority be cautious to not spread germs. We also encourage the use of electronic giving, our stationary giving boxes, projected words for Scripture and Worship Songs, and single sealed communion cups/bread.  We continue to have all surfaces sanitized by professionals, and we have hand sanitizers throughout our buildings for public use as you also practice careful hand washing.

At this time, we will continue to hold our scheduled events including Sunday worship at 9 and 10:30 am in our Plymouth Building.  We are listening carefully to the recommendations of the CDC and our governor as we make decisions. We are following what Governor Baker has asked and making sure that all FCC gatherings are less than 250 people.  For anyone who feels uncomfortable attending an event or service, we want you to know that we will be using Facebook Live, Zoom, and YouTube (we have a Faith Community YouTube channel) whenever possible. We also encourage the leaders of any Faith Community activity to make the decision on whether their program will meet.

When changes occur, we will send out notifications by e-mail, text, and/or our Facebook pages.  We also regularly update our church calendar that is found on the front page of our website (www.faithcommunityma.com).  Our calendar has our most up to date information.  Your pastors also want you to know that we are here for you to provide your pastoral care.  Please contact one of your pastors: Pastor Stan (774-404-4314), Pastor Josee (781-336-8435), or Pastor David (774-283-3864).

Our Parish Nurse, Emily Ault has given us suggestions to help us all stay as healthy as possible. Not only do we ask for you to perform proper hand hygiene to prevent the spread of infection, we also should know the recommended daily supplements for adults (for children check with their Pediatrician):

-Vitamin D 3,000-5,000 IU          -Vitamin C 1000 mg per day                -Zinc 30mg per day

Remember that if you are starting anything new you should speak with your Primary care doctor first.

I invite you to commit to praying with me every day for our congregation, our medical experts, our leaders and our health care providers. For any who wish to join others in prayer, we will have an 8 am prayer meeting each weekday morning in our Plymouth building led by Pastors David and Josee.  We know that God wants us to be united in our faith and love for Him and one another.

In Christ,

Pastor Stan
