It’s Never Too Late With God

It’s Never Too Late With God

Genesis 17:1

When Abram was ninety-nine years old the LORD appeared to him.

I once almost missed a train leaving North Station. It was the last train of the evening going to Lowell (where we lived at the time). I still remember the sheer terror I felt as I saw the train start to move and ran to get aboard. Had I been just a minute later, I would have been stranded in Boston on a cold winter’s night when it was snowing hard. I simply didn’t have a back-up plan.

Abram and Sarai thought it was too late for them. He was 99 years old and she was over 90! What could God possibly still have in store? However, with God IT IS NEVER TOO LATE! God had promised more blessings, and they were about to have their first child. Impossible?Absolutely!!! But, that’s what makes this story so helpful. Because, “For nothing will be impossible with God!” (Luke 1:37)

I invite you to get rid of the “It’s too late for me” thinking that often plagues us. God has abundant blessings in store for each one of us. The only thing we are asked to do is trust in Him. Jesus gave His life for us so that we would receive forgiveness and get a new chance. Wherever you are in your walk with the Lord, remember that it was not too late for Abram and Sarai and it’s NEVER too late for us!

Sidewalk Prophets, “Come to the Table” reminds us of God’s way of showering us with grace and love no matter what has happened in our life.
