Faithfulness Gift

Faithfulness Gift

Genesis 9:13

I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant.

God promised His faithfulness to Noah, the animals of earth, the earth itself, and all future generations. We are part of those “future generations”. God wants to make sure we know He is faithful. Therefore, He made sure we understood that we can always look to our past to see how He has carried us through. Then, He also gave us a gift. That gift is the Rainbow. Each time you or I see a rainbow, it reminds us that God loves us and is faithful to us.

There are times when we need reassurance. It may just be how we are feeling a particular day or something may have happened that leaves us feeling as if God has forgotten us. I call those days the silence of God! The times in which we don’t feel God’s presence, it is important to know that there is something tangible that God has promised in His word to assure us that He is with us and He cares. That something is a rainbow!

The rainbow is God’s gift to remind us of His faithfulness. I invite you to think of the gifts you are giving this Christmas. Rather than thinking you need to spend more money or give something more or even do something else, I challenge you to consider this. Try to think of how you can give a gift to someone you love that reminds them of God’s faithfulness. Make this a “Faithfulness Gift”. In so doing, I believe you will feel God’s presence in the Christmas Season!

Israel Houghton reminds us of God’s Faithfulness with his rendition of, Great is Thy Faithfulness.
