Why Love?

Why Love?

Knowing God means Knowing Love
I John 4:7
“Whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”

We have all struggled with learning to love someone that we don’t like. We know that as Christians we should love them, but there is just something that makes them seem unlovable. We try to figure it out, and we still struggle.

In his first letter, John tells us to first work on our relationship with God. He calls this getting to “know God”! If you are having a hard time with someone in your life, spend time talking to God about that person. Spend time in God’s Word and read about His unconditional love for you and that person. Whenever we get to “know God” better we always change!
I challenge you to think of one person you have a hard time with. Write their name on a piece of paper, put it in your Bible, and use it as a bookmark for I John (not to be confused with the Gospel of John). Every day for one week read in I John and spend time praying for that person. You will get to know God better and God will change your heart!
